The Role

As our Civil / Marine Engineer, you will assist and support Project Managers within Minesto in the design and development of subsea systems, foundations, anchoring and mooring systems, connections, umbilical and risers.

The role will include research, conceptualising, sourcing, designing, tendering, evaluating bids and will assist/oversee the approval of final systems, appointment of contractors, design & fabrication and the installation process.

You will oversee the installation of all components to suitable standards and ensuring compliance. You will be a part of the Minesto UK set up where you will play an important part in delivering and operating the DG500 demonstration project in Holy Island transitioning into the Deep Green Array project and other projects around the world. To ensure concept, design and process are viable, cost effective, to suitable standards, comply with relevant legislation, have suitable third-party evaluation and verification as required. Ensure suitable ISO and other certification standards are complied with.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and assess concepts for all marine infrastructure including, foundations, umbilical, connections & tethers etc.

Develop suitable procedures for the installation of the kite, foundation, connections and umbilical. 

Provide input and contribute to the work of the Procurement Evaluation Board in their evaluation of potential bids.

Provide input and contribute to the team ensuring overall success and long-term viability of the marine infrastructure and kite systems.

Your Profile, Experience and Qualifications

You will have proven experience as part of a team involved in developing offshore and subsea installations, subsea and marine/offshore engineering, design and installation of systems.  Ideally in a tidal energy or other marine renewable environment.

You will have knowledge and experience of subsea templates, mooring & anchoring systems, subsea umbilical and cables.

Experience of diver and ROV installation operations, design engineering and offshore engineering

Key Qualifications

  • Graduate engineer in appropriate mechanical, marine and structural/civil engineering disciplines or equivalent.
  • Fluent in English – written & spoken.
  • UK Driving Licence.
