Minesto is looking for a Group Controller who is inspired by our aim to minimise the energy sector’s global carbon footprint and attracted to taking part in the challenges of expanding a pioneering part of the renewable energy industry.  

As a Group Controller at Minesto, you will be a part of the Finance team, working together in realising the potential of Minesto’s unique marine energy technology.

The role requires a strong personal drive with the ability to be productive across work packages spanning from conceptual designs and implementations to running daily operations.

We are looking for a skilled financial controller or accountant who is eager to collaborate in an international, dynamic, multi-professional team – and contribute to Minesto’s exciting journey.

The role

As Group Controller of Minesto you have the responsibility to develop, implement and maintain systems and procedures to support the financial control of Minesto AB and Group companies. As a technology development company, the content will vary from time to time as and when needs change in line with Minesto's business evolution.

The success of this role lies in designing and implementing methodologies for long term business durability, incorporating a degree of flexibility as required.

The current financial control systems of Minesto include corporate financial areas such as accounting, budgeting and forecasting of the organisation, project and business-related finances, complex key-figure modelling and funding programs. Further development will be towards Group integrated financial software systems, ERP, product costing, and project finance models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the financial control systems such as budgeting, forecasting and related reporting models.

  • Overview of the group's soft funding programs and support the reporting for financial compliance.

  • Actively take part in projects within the Business and Technology Development segment to provide financial analytical support, key-figure calculations, reporting and follow up.

  • Develop and maintain group related financial policies & procedures.

  • Ongoing updates and coordination of existing accounting software, master data files and workflow processes.

The Group Controller is also expected to be able to occasionally support the Accounting and Reporting functions on demand related to accounting, closing of books and regulatory reporting.

Your profile

Education & competence

To be successful in this role you should have a university degree, or relevant post-secondary education, in Finance, Business Administration or similar and at least 3–5 years of experience as a financial controller or qualified accountant, preferably within a multinational company.

You should be fluent in Swedish and English business language and proven experience working with finance systems. Experience from business intelligence tools is an advantage. You have a good knowledge of working in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Personal skills & behavioural

This position requires you to be talented in business dynamics, modelling and understanding how IT systems can facilitate and support businesses. You will need strong analytical skills with the ability to dive into the details and still be able to understand the wider objectives.

For this role it is highly important to be able to demonstrate skills to interpret, communicate and present findings and make recommendations in a professional way.

This is a full-time position placed at Minesto’s headquarters in Gothenburg, reporting to the CFO. Occasional business travelling (post-Covid) to Minesto’s other sites can be expected.
