We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Assembly Engineer or Technician who is driven by the desire to minimise the global carbon footprint and inspired by the challenges involved with moving technology frontiers forward. As Mechanical Assembly Engineer at Minesto, you will be part of an international team working together towards the commercialisation of a ground-breaking renewable energy technology with global expansion potential.

You will be working at our Test Site based in Portaferry, with close working relationships with colleagues in Sweden and Wales. The role will require occasional business trips to visit these sites.
Your work will include supporting developing design and manufacturing mechanical solutions to improve existing assemblies on our quarter scale prototype kite, generating new solutions both in-house and outsourced. You will undertake mechanical construction, fabrication and assembly works, ensuring that all mechanical components are correctly assembled and tested.
You will form part of the test and deployment team of our quarter scale kite identifying and promoting improvements in the kit handling onshore and offshore.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assembly, testing and commissioning of all mechanical parts
- Participate in commissioning activities onshore and offshore
- Provide offshore deployment support for the power plant
- Generate reports and procedures as required
- General boat duties to include skippering
- Support Health & Safety processes at the Test site
- BTEC L3 and or HND or similar in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum five years of relevant experience
- Offshore experience
