The Role

The role is to become a valued member of the onshore Minesto team and participate in all aspects of our operation onshore and offshore as required.

Performance of the Deep Green Technology is Minestos core business and as this exciting project continues to expand, Minesto require a Technician to join our team of engineers.

The goal of this project is to commission, test and maintain the worlds’ first full-scale Deep Green power plant of the coast of Holy Island.

This challenging position is multi-disciplinary, working with our highly experienced and skilled personnel in a collaborative environment, with cutting edge marine energy technology.

Your overall responsibility is to support the mechanical and electrical engineering departments in all maintenance, installation and operation of the DG500 tidal turbine including fastening devices and subsystems:

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the assembly, testing, commissioning and maintainance of mechanical & electrical parts / sub-assemblies / assemblies
  • Manage stock and tools, following stock control procedures & Asset Registers
  • Participate in commissioning and logistical activities onshore and offshore.
  • Form part of the Offshore deployment team for the power plant.

Your Profile, Experience and Qualifications

We are looking for a committed team player with experience of working on your own initiative and as part of a team. Practical hands on attitude, capable of taking ownership of assigned work and ensuring deadlines are met. Having a flexible approach to working in varying weather conditions and an interest in renewable energy. A driving licence is required for this role.


Experience of working within industrial, maritime / offshore environments.

Entitlement to tow a trailer would also be desirable.
