Minesto and Anglesey promoted in UK Parliament
On Wednesday, Anglesey Day was arranged in the House of Commons. The day, hosted by Ynys Môn MP Albert Owen, aims to promote the Isle of Anglesey by offering local organisations the chance to engage with MP’s and other Parliament representatives.
This year the event linked in with the Welsh Government’s theme of the Year of the Sea and included representatives from the Anglesey’s coastal communities, focusing on tourism and marine energy. Invited by Albert Owen, Minesto was represented by CEO Martin Edlund, COO David Collier and Business Developer Osian Roberts.
Over the course of the day, Minesto had the opportunity to engage with several key stakeholders to promote the company and the operations in Wales, not least with Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Greg Clark.
“We would like to thank Albert Owen for the kind hospitality at this year’s Anglesey Day. We had a very nice and productive time in the Houses of Parliament, with import discussions regarding the opportunities and challenges for the UK marine energy industry taking place”, said Martin Edlund.
The day was wrapped up with a dinner attended by representatives from both the House of Lords and the House of Commons.
