Minesto to attend 33rd Sweden–Taiwan JBC Meeting
Minesto’s CEO Dr Martin Edlund will attend the 33rd Sweden-Taiwan Joint Business Council (JBC) Meeting which is visited by a Taiwanese delegation consisting of 20+ government officials, researchers and business leaders.
The delegation is led by Mei-Hua Wang, Vice Minister of Economic Affairs Ministry and Chi-Mau Sheih, Chairman of Taiwan-Sweden Economic Cooperation Committee and President of Chunghwa Telecom. Opening keynote will be made by Oscar Stenström, State Secretary for the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
The JBC meeting is an annual forum for cooperation between Sweden and Taiwan and it acts as an important platform for business contacts and business relations, with the purpose to explore business and R&D collaboration opportunities with Taiwanese companies, clusters and government.
One focus area of the JBC meeting is Energy & Smart Cities, within which Taiwan Power Corp. is planned to speak on the theme “Energy Opportunities and Challenges in Taiwan”.
“Taiwan is a key market to Minesto in the commercial roll-out of the Deep Green technology. It is a market where our unique product could exploit both tidal streams and, more importantly, continuous ocean currents, to supply Taiwanese homes and businesses with renewable base load power. We are looking forward to strengthen our relations with key players in Taiwan to make this happen”, said Martin Edlund.
Minesto’s involvement in the upcoming JBC meeting, which will be held in Stockholm on 25th of September, follows the company’s participation at the 32nd JBC meeting and the EU-Taiwan Green Summit, that were both held in Taipei last autumn.
