Minesto to strengthen U.S. market development at BlueTech Week
Minesto has been invited by the Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce to showcase the company and its technology at the Green Connections Conference arranged during BlueTech Week which is taking place in San Diego 18–22 November. Throughout the BlueTech Week, Minesto's CEO Dr Martin Edlund will be making several presentations and participating in panel discussions focusing on offshore energy technologies and the global transition to sustainable energy systems.
“This is a great opportunity for us to engage with key actors within the U.S. renewable energy landscape”, said Martin Edlund. “The U.S. is an interesting market for Minesto and our Deep Green technology, not least the prospect of unlocking renewable baseload power production from the Gulf Stream.”
With more than 50 percent of the population living within 50 miles of coastlines, the potential to provide U.S. businesses and households with clean, predictable electricity from tidal streams and ocean currents is substantial. Based on resource assessments by the Department of Energy, Minesto estimates the expansion potential of its unique subsea kite technology in the U.S. to more than 200GW installed capacity.
“Against the backdrop of the rising importance of renewable generation in the U.S., it will be an enriching experience sharing insights with industrial players, governmental bodies and academic expertise at Green Connections and the BlueTech Week”, said Martin Edlund.
