Minesto invited as speaker at EU Sustainable Energy Week

Minesto’s CEO Dr Martin Edlund has been invited as speaker during the EU Sustainable Energy Week, a month-long series of activities arranged by the European Commission with the purpose to build a secure energy future for Europe. This year’s theme is “Beyond the crisis: clean energy for green recovery and growth.”

Martin Edlund will be taking part at a webinar hosted by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) and Ocean Energy Europe on 19 June. The webinar, titled “New horizons: Europe driving ocean energy development around the world”, will focus on examining new international developments in technology and the future of Europe’s global leadership role in ocean energy technology. Photos: Minesto’s first offshore installation phase of the Vestmannasund project

Earlier this week, Minesto successfully completed the first offshore installation phase of the company’s tidal energy project in Vestmannasund, Faroe Islands. The gravity-based foundation for the powerplant has been installed at the site, which will provide the connection point for Minesto’s DG100 tidal kite system.

Minesto shortlisted as finalist in the renowned E-Prize awards

Minesto has been shortlisted as a finalist in the renowned E-Prize awards. Arranged by electric utility company E.On for the twelfth consecutive year, E-Prize recognises the best creative energy solutions in Sweden in the categories of renewable energy, sustainable transport, and energy efficiency. Minesto is one of three finalists in its category.
