The team represent a range of backgrounds to cover key areas in technology development and commercialisation, international sales, funding and financing.
Dr Martin Edlund, CEO
Dr Martin Edlund has for the last twenty years combined management consulting and strategy research collaboration with world-class technology companies such as ABB, GE, LM Ericsson and SKF.
Dr Martin Edlund has a PhD in Innovation Management from the Department of Technology Management and Economics at the Chalmers University of Technology and holds a Master’s degree in Engineering Physics.
Fredrik Ahlström, CFO
Fredrik Ahlström has broad experience in financial management and international business. For the last two decades, he has led the financial operations of several companies in capital-intensive industries. Throughout his career, Fredrik Ahlström has held strategic positions in management teams and boards.
Fredrik Ahlström holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Gothenburg.
Bernt Erik Westre, CTO
Bernt Erik Westre has more than 17 years’ experience with engineering, concept development and project management in offshore energy. He has previously held engineer, manager and senior advisor positions at GVA Consultants and Aker Maritime. Bernt Erik joined Minesto as Design Manager in 2016 and was appointed CTO of the company in September 2017.
Bernt Erik Westre holds an MSc in Marine Technology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology.
David Collier, COO
David Collier has for the last 30 years of his career spent the vast part in offshore energy, building and leading engineering teams and creating commercial solutions. He has spent the last decade engaged in technical and commercial development of wave and tidal power devices. Before joining Minesto in 2017, David was Project Manager at MeyGen, the largest planned tidal stream project in the world, where he led the development of the only commercial scale multi-turbine tidal energy array to have commenced operation.
David Collier holds a 1st Class Civil Engineering degree from the University of Leeds.
Charlotta Ekman has several years of experience from leading positions at high-tech ventures in the renewable energy sector. She has extensive experience in forming and managing large publicly funded R&D consortiums. Charlotta Ekman is a member of the steering committees of the Ocean Energy Centre at Chalmers University of Technology and Offshore Väst.
Charlotta Ekman holds an MSc degree in Finance and Accounting from Gothenburg University and an MSc in Venture Creation from Chalmers University of Technology.
